World War II Coffee Morning

On Friday morning, Year 6 children and staff entertained almost 70 visitors including family, neighbours and governors with crafts, readings and songs from the war years. Rag mats and knitting were just 2 of the activities on offer. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as we sang along to Vera Lynn classics, whilst sipping tea and eating wonderful homemade cakes. My thanks to all the children and staff for a wonderful morning with the community and a special thank you to our oldest visitor George, who was 101 years old! We also took the opportunity to show our visitors the future for learning as they visited ICT lessons. Thank you for all the positive feedback we have had from guests. Come again next year!

Welcome!

I hope you will enjoy reading the Head Teacher blog with details about my day in school and the wonderful encounters I have with children, parents and staff. Starting with today; after an active Cheerleading assembly led by Louise and the cheerleading club, Mr Jarman, Miss Losse and I all tried to learn the peanut butter and jelly routine! I think we all need a few more lessons, but cheerleading certainly keeps us fit. The group were very confident in their performance to the whole school.
