Now let’s have more fun in the last week!

The Disney Delights performances were spectacular and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the occasions. Thank you once more to everyone who helped to make this annual event such a success. The children have recovered from their tiredness and are looking forward to the cinema visit to see Planet 51, a more recent release than Christmas Carol. Years 3&4 will be attending the cinema on Tuesday and years 5&6 on Wednesday. We can hardly wait and it will be such fun together as this is a private screening for just our school! Don’t forget medication and medication slips please.
The Children’s Christmas Market preparations for Thursday are on target and children need to bring no more than £2.00 to spend on that afternoon. Finally, children need to reclaim their Christmas mobile on Thursday to lock away in the attic for next year. There were some old family heirloom mobiles that I recognised and some very up-to -date new additions. The hall has looked very festive for the last two weeks.

Mrs Williams.

It’s a busy week in school.

There certainly is a busy and enjoyable week ahead of us. Year 5 went to a Tudor Christamas at Bramall Hall on Monday and their costumes were amazing. Thank you to all parents and carers who helped with these to make the day so realistic. In classes, children made tudor pomanders of oranges and cloves and you will find them adorning the school porch. There is a fabulous festive smell as you enter the main entrance. Thank you year 5.
Today the choir are paticipating in the Young Voices performance in Manchester. It’s such a wonderful experience for over 7,000 children to sing together. This can be a long evening, so I can expect some tired faces tomorrow (including teachers!) For the rest of us today it is school Christmas lunch and Mrs Taylor our school cook is making a special effort to make it a fabulous occasion. Teachers will be joining the children in the hall for their lunch as Christmas songs are played on our own radio station.
This morning I attended the fabulous Infant Nativity for reception children and it really gave everyone that true feeling of Christmas. The children were outstanding in their performances at such a young age. This afternoon some of the Junior children will attend the dress rehearsal of the Yr 1& 2 performance. I know they are really looking forward to this and the responsibility of representing the Junior School.
Finally, we come to our own performances! The costumes are wonderful and children have excelled themselves with singing and acting.  I hope you are ready to laugh at the bad jokes and clap at the right times as the children give all their efforts to entertain us once again at Christmas time. Everyone is so excited! I can’t wait!

Text messaging

Parents and carers who have supplied us with mobile numbers should have received a test text message on Tuesday 1st December. This did not require a response, but if you did not receive the message, check with the school office to confirm our information. Please be assured that this service will only be used in the event of an emergency regarding the whole school or groups and anything pertinent to your child as an individual, will be conveyed through telephone calls. In such a technological world we do not want to lose the personal contact we have with our families however, it is important that we have a texting service as an alternative facility when safeguarding our children.
Thank you for your support in this matter.
